I want to give a shout out to Ford for doing something cool with yoga.
In Summer 2016 I worked for Wanderlust. Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont was one stop on the tour through the U.S. and Canada. On Sunday June 19th – the last day of the Stratton festival – my job was being Section Manager for yoga classes happening at “The Highest Place” venue on the summit of the mountain. You ride the gondola to get up there.
The weather was perfect, an incredibly beautiful day under a rich blue, no clouds sky. Ford sponsored the 10:00 a.m. class where, for every registered attendee, $10 went to the Young Survival Coalition to help young women in the breast cancer fight. We had a huge crowd attend, packing the platform.
Larissa Hall Carlson, Dean of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Stockbridge, MA, provided a tremendous slow flow yoga class.
At the end during Savasana, while everyone was resting on their backs with eyes closed in the strong sunshine, Larissa, myself and other Wanderlust workers quietly positioned a nicely wrapped pink gift at the head of each participant…another nice gesture courtesy of Ford.
Inside each gift were inspirational messages and colorful cards and envelopes. Nice!
Wanderlust travels back to Stratton this June 22-25, 2017. A lot of great people will be there. Here’s the schedule.
Oh, and here’s what the Section Managers look like. If we can help you in anyway just ask. Our t-shirts say “Wanderlust Navigator” and we like to do just that.
